Welcome to Geirology

This is the first post in my new blog, called Geirology.

This blog is where I will bring my view upon various musical trends. I will usually write in English, but if I write about some local Norwegian phenomenon that is mainly of interest to Norwegians, then it may be that I will occasionally do a post in Norwegian from time to time.

Those who know me from usenet and various discussion forums on the net will know that I have some very strong opinions on musical genres or phenomenons I do not like, like for instance hip-hop, contemporary mainstream R&B, some sorts of dance, "dansband", so-called "contemporary" "art music" (modern "classical") and extreme forms of hard rock/metal. I still do and I may end up writing some stuff. But generally I will try to concentrate on the stuff I like other than what I do not like.

This is meant as a music blog. Maybe I will have some strong opinions on some other stuff, maybe not. but mainly I feel like I will cover music here.

At the moment I have some ideas that I will write about and I may come up with quite a bunch of posts during the first few months of Geirology's life. I don't know how often I will end up updating in the long run, time will show.
